Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 April 2025
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences, understand how you use it, and, with your consent, show you relevant advertising on other platforms.
Similar technologies include pixels (tiny invisible images that track page visits), local storage, and session storage. This policy covers all of these.
2. How we use cookies
We use cookies to keep the site working, understand how visitors interact with it, and only with your consent, to personalise ads. We never sell data collected through cookies to third parties.
When you first visit chaptersofyou.co.uk, you’ll see a consent banner. You can choose which categories to enable. You can change your preferences at any time by clicking “Manage preferences” in the footer.

Marketing
These cookies are set by our advertising partners (Meta and Google) to measure the effectiveness of our ads and to show relevant adverts to you on other websites and apps. They work by tracking your visit and building a profile of your interests. If you decline, you’ll still see ads but they won’t be tailored to you.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
| _fbp | Meta Pixel: tracks visits for ad targeting | 3 months |
| _fbc | Meta: stores click ID from Meta ads | 3 months |
| fr | Meta: ad delivery and measurement | 3 months |
| _gcl_au | Google Ads: conversion measurement | 3 months |
| IDE | Google DoubleClick: ad personalisation | 1 year |
| NID | Google: ad targeting and measurement | 6 months |
4. Google Consent Mode v2
We implement Google Consent Mode v2 on this site. This means that before any Google scripts load, we set all consent signals to “denied” by default. Google Analytics and Google Ads only activate and collect identifiable data once you grant the relevant consent category.
If you decline analytics or marketing cookies, Google may still receive anonymous, cookieless pings for basic conversion modelling. No personally identifiable data is included in these pings.
5. Managing your preferences
On this site
You can update your cookie preferences at any time. Click “Manage preferences” in the footer or cookie banner to open the preferences panel.
In your browser
You can also control cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking all cookies may affect site functionality (e.g. the checkout). Common browser guides:
Opting out of ad targeting
- Your Online Choices (EU/UK) to opt out of interest-based advertising
- Google Ad Settings to manage Google personalised ads
- Meta Ad Preferences to manage Meta ad targeting
